Tips for well use of Clamwin
This time we’ll give you some tips for a better use of Clamwin Anti-virus.
To make sure that Clamwin is working properly on your PC, we recommend you to download a test file called EICAR. But there’s no reason to be alarmed, this file is not a virus, it is just a standart test file. This meant file should be recognized and treated as if it was a real virus. Clamwin will show you a message that says: “Eicar-Test-Signature”. If the previously meant message appears, that means that everything is fine on Clamwin’s functioning. At some point the following Error might appear, ERROR: It is not possible to iniciate the virus data base. This posible Error will be displayed when there’s no data base available on Clamwin. In the first place check if the option “Download Virus Database” in the configuration menu, is enabled. If that option is already active, you can by try checking the Virus Database Report, which is available on “Display Reports” on the taskbar. In case you keep up maintaining the same Error, check up your connection.
